Since the last update the band has welcomed some new players on baritone and horns taking our numbers up to 27. This is great news but we do still have vacancies and would welcome more players.
Anna Davies is officially our new MD and she has been doing a great job preparing us and leading us during our many gigs. The jobs completed so far this year include:
26/04/25 – Yate Heritage Centre, St George’s Day.
05/05/25 – Tytherington – May Day Fair.
10/05/25 – VE Day celebrations, Thornbury.
12/07/25 – Wallace and Gromit. St Marys Centre Thornbury
26/07/25 – Beech House Care Home Fete in Thornbury.
04/10/25 – Tytherington Concert.
09/11/25 – Tytherington, Remembrance Sunday
There was a wide variety of music chosen for the programmes and there has been a lot of positive feedback from the audiences.
The Tytherington concert was the first one the band had undertaken in 6 years and was really well received.
The band is now working hard preparing our Christmas programme for playing festive music in and around Thornbury. You can see us at the Thornbury at the lights switch on, The Swan Thornbury, Mall Cribbs Causeway – twice, Asda Cribbs, Thornbury Tesco, the Thornbury Christmas Farmers Market and the Bowl in Almondsbury – see the event information for more details.
