Fantastic Band Workshop!
We were extremely fortunate to have Owen Farr lead our practice on 1st November 2016. The band had been preparing for the GBBA event on 20th November and felt that we would benefit from some world class musical interpretation. Owen led us for an intensive workshop with humour and with passion and despite being unfamiliar with the music, the band responded well to his direction and explanation for how to read and interpret phrases and movements. All at the practice commented how enjoyable it had been, despite working hard and how much had been learned.
We hope that Owen might be able to take us again when we are working towards a specific event in the future.
Band Workshop
Owen Farr will be taking Thornbury Town band in a workshop on the contest pieces for the GBBA Own Choice Contest. This will be an excellent event and we hope the band gains a lot of insight and inspiration from it.
Band Gets New Website
The Band gets a new website! We hope the new band website will be a fantastic source of information for band members and the general public. This website will show the current status of the band and aim to promote the band to the public and to the wider brass band community.
Please feel free to take a look around, view our upcoming events and our band history.
Thank you to all those involved with the production of the new website.
The website is designed to work on all devices including a mobile phone version!
